Wifi music sync app

AmpMe – Speaker & Music Sync 12+

Great app. You connect you phones together if you want the song to be really loud. Definitely Recommend. Theres one thing i would add. It would be cool if there was a chat so when you connect to someone very far away from you, you will be able to talk to them, just an idea.

Developer Response ,

Hey! Thanks for your review and your suggestion! We think that is a great idea and we will get to work! Stay tuned for upcoming updates

Don’t recommend at all.

If you are rich, go ahead and download this app, if you are like me, a young adult, looking for a music app simply to connect to my friends’ devices, please go further reading, firstly I downloaded it, and I was surprised and thought to continue to use this app. However. you only get to use the + button literally once to see what it looks like for paid people using, clicking the + agian, it tells you that you need to buy the subscription for something like £29 per month!? I don’t bloody think so. To the developers, all we want is to sync our phones together when we’re out on a trip or out on a good day in the woods or at the beach, and sync our favourite songs using OUR DATA, yet you want us to pay that amount of money? Are you having a laugh? I’m a student in UNI and that’s pretty much my wages for a day gone, that’s seriously sick. But then agian, if you’re rich, you’re pretty much in the good terms here. Really disappointed in this app and I’m really disappointed in people charging others just for an app to sync music, even when we’re using our own data and WiFi. Terrible, 👎🏻

Quite obviously a scam

I don’t know how Apple hasn’t taken this down from the App Store. Their product is useless because even if you buy it, you need other devices to also purchase Amp Me separately in order to connect. Obviously no one would actually pay for such a terrible product. The only way they get money is people signing up to the free subscriptions and forgetting cancel, and then being billed about £10 PER WEEK. If they were actually trying to maximise revenue from legit customers, do you think they would charge £40 per month for syncing music?

Synchronize Android by Wifi

In order to use this method of syncing, you need to have a rooted Android phone.

  1. Install Samba Filesharing for Android.
  2. Set up Samba and configure settings for external SD Card if needed.
    • For best syncing results, allow Samba to use a wakelock when running. To prevent unnecessary battery drain, you can disable Samba when not syncing.
  3. Open My Computer on the PC, find the device in Network, right click on the network folder inside the device that you want to assign as network drive and select «Map Network Drive. «, select a drive letter.
    • If you have configured Samba with a username and password and have trouble logging from Windows, try using WORKGROUP/Username instead of just Username.
  4. Open Musicbee, right-click the network drive in the Computer node, select «Manage Folders» and then «Set X: as a Virtual Device».
  5. Right-click on the virtual device and go into «Device Settings» to configure.

Indirect Method [ ]

If your phone is not rooted, you will need to use a two-stage process to sync over wifi.

  1. In MusicBee, create a Virtual Device (found under Preferences > Devices) anywhere on your hard drive and configure it with your desired settings.
  2. On your phone, you will need to install an app like Resilio
    • It is not the only option, but it has been confirmed to work by MusicBee users.
    • By default, Resilio will transfer files through an external relay server (this allows it to sync even remotely). If you prefer, you can set it to using only your LAN.
  3. On your computer, install the desktop client for your chosen sync program.
  4. Configure the folder for your Virtual Device to sync to your phone.
    • Once configured, it should continue to keep the folder synced without your input; you only need to sync from MusicBee to the Virtual Device.
