From day one, we’ve built remote control systems that are perfect for remote switch lighting.

With a variety of wireless RF systems that can be used to control different lighting types, if it’s for remote switching garden lighting, switching a set of lights on a garage or conservatory, or floodlights at a football pitch, several of our controls are designed with different light switching in mind.

In this article, we’ll explore 7 different easy switching options ideal for wireless lighting control.

1. SWITCHLINK – Remote Controlled Light Switch

SWITCHLINK is our standard remote controlled light switch option. Why? Because its already a wireless light switch!

The transmitter is a battery-powered wireless gang switch, powered by a CR2032 coin cell.

Due to battery-less light switches, some installers are put off by battery-powered switches. However, its worth noting that kinetic switches aren’t able to produce anywhere near as much power as a battery can, and so range is significantly inferior (usually around 30+ metres), compared to a SWITCHLINK transmitter that can produce a range of up to 200 metres line of sight and 80m range within buildings.

Paired with a MAINSLINK receiver, this system is for single channel light switching and requires a 230VAC power supply. It’s a quick, simple and cost-effective solution to remote light switching when cabling is tricky, expensive or time consuming.

As of 2023, we also manufacture a remote control outdoor light switch, the Industrial SWITCHLINK-IP system. This is the same as the standard SWITCHLINK, with an IP66-rated outdoor wireless light switch instead.

2. MAINSSWITCH – 1 Channel MAINS + RF Key Fobs System

MAINSSWITCH is a great solution for those looking to remote switch lights from a simple ON/OFF pocket FOBBER key fob remote control.

Also utilising a MAINSLINK receiver, MAINSSWITCH is a popular 1 channel solution for switching garden lighting and has a range of up to 200 metres line of sight. Supplied ready to use with a latching key fob, plus the ability to add extra transmitters or receivers to the system.

This simple-to-setup system is ideal if an install requires a 230Vac switched output.

3. HORNETPRO – Versatile Light Switching from Pocket Key Fobs

4. FERRET System – Add RF Control to Existing Lighting

Already have a set of lights and wanted to add RF control to them?

Using a FERRET, a tiny 1 channel RF receiver, you can add this on to existing lights and remote switch this from any of our RF Solutions compatible 868MHz transmitters.

There is also a simple ON/OFF latching system pre-paired! (Please note – other FOBBERS are available to provide a momentary operation. Please review the FOBBER-8T range)

As a small RF receiver, its ideal for fitting into tight enclosures or cavities. Because it can be powered from a 4 – 24VDC, or using the FERRET 230VAC MAINS PSU add-on, the FERRET is perfect for adding RF switching to your existing lights that are annoying or inconvenient to switch.

That’s right, using any volt-free switch, like a standard lighting gang switch, as well as a BOGEYBOARD, you can create your own switch.

And the best part? It’s super easy!
